FAQ
Questions about CAINIX
Straight answers about adapting your book with CAINIX: what it makes, what it costs, who owns the result and what happens to your manuscript.
What CAINIX does
- What is CAINIX?
- CAINIX is a web studio that adapts your own manuscript for the screen. You upload a novel, novella or short story, and CAINIX turns it into a screenplay, a vertical micro-drama series or a Visual Bible for AI image and video tools. It reads the whole book, and you approve each stage before the next one starts.
- Can AI turn my novel into a screenplay?
- Yes. CAINIX first analyses the whole manuscript and builds the story details and the character list for you to approve, then a screenplay plan — the acts and sequences, each tied to the chapters it comes from. The screenplay is written from the whole book and that approved plan, and a consistency check compares it with the manuscript. You can fix any finding, keep it as intentional, or rewrite a part with your own notes.
- How is this different from asking ChatGPT to write a screenplay?
- A chat assistant works from what fits in the conversation and forgets earlier decisions. CAINIX reads the whole manuscript, keeps an approved character list and story canon that every later step must follow, checks each result against the book, and keeps the same characters, names and facts from the first scene to the last. Results come in industry formats: PDF, Word, Fountain and Final Draft.
- What is a micro-drama series?
- A short-form drama told in episodes of about a minute — usually vertical (9:16) for phones — where every episode opens with a hook and ends on a cliffhanger. CAINIX builds the series arc and an episode map from your book, writes a three-episode pilot for you to approve, then the rest of the series in batches. Episodes can be 30–60 seconds, 60–90 seconds or up to three minutes, vertical or landscape.
- Can I use CAINIX with Higgsfield, Kling, Runway or Veo?
- Yes, through the Generator Pack: one ZIP with a ready prompt and an approved reference image for every character and location, a printable sheet for each character, one style line and one negative line for every shot, and a prompt per scene with the dialogue and the files to attach. No video tool imports a whole project; the pack's README shows how to upload and paste per shot.
- What kinds of manuscripts work?
- Novels, novellas and short stories, uploaded as Word (.docx) or plain text (.txt). For a micro-drama series you can also start without a manuscript, from a concept or an existing series bible.
Pricing
- How much does CAINIX cost?
- You pay in tokens (1 token = 1 EUR), by the length of your manuscript. A screenplay package — story details, character list, screenplay plan and the screenplay — is 99 tokens for a book of 20,000–70,000 words, and proportionally less or more outside that range. A micro-drama series costs the same as the screenplay package for the same book. A Visual Bible adds 15 tokens to a project, and each image costs 1 token. Re-running a stage costs at most 10 tokens for a book of up to 70,000 words.
- Can I try it for free?
- Yes. Every new account starts with 29 tokens — the first 20,000 words free. That takes a short story or a novella all the way to a screenplay.
- Is it a subscription?
- No. You top up your balance when you need to and pay only for the steps you run. The price of each step is shown before you start it.
Rights and privacy
- Who owns the screenplay and the other results?
- You keep the rights to your manuscript, and CAINIX claims no ownership of it. The materials you download are yours to use. AI-assisted text may not be automatically protected by copyright, which is why every stage is yours to review, edit and approve — and you should review the results before publishing them.
- Will my manuscript be used to train AI?
- No. CAINIX does not use your manuscript or anything you upload to train, fine-tune or improve any AI model, and does not add it to any dataset. Under OpenAI's API terms, OpenAI does not train on API data either.
- Where is my manuscript stored?
- The manuscript text stays in the browser you uploaded it from; it is not stored with the project on CAINIX's servers. The results of each stage are stored encrypted in a database in the EU (Frankfurt).
- Do I need the rights to the book?
- Yes. Upload only work you wrote or have the rights to adapt. Public-domain books are fine — our Monkey's Paw demo is adapted from a 1902 story.
- Can I download everything and delete my project?
- Yes. The project archive downloads the whole project — manuscript, every stage's data, scripts and images — as one ZIP. A project is deleted 24 hours after you confirm it complete, or after 90 days without activity (with email warnings), and you can delete your account at any time.
