This page lists the third-party providers CAINIX uses to process manuscript content, generated assets, or account data during private beta testing, and what each one does.

What This Page Is
CAINIX uses a small number of infrastructure and AI providers to operate Studio. This page names the providers that process your manuscript content, generated assets, or account data, what each one is used for, and where that processing happens. CAINIX will add or replace a subprocessor here before relying on it for a new purpose.
OpenAI — AI Analysis and Generation
OpenAI processes manuscript text you submit for analysis (Senior Story Director, Character Census, screenplay adaptation) and generates images and video clips you request, acting as a subprocessor for CAINIX. OpenAI is a US company; this involves a transfer of data outside the EEA. OpenAI's own Data Processing Addendum governs this processing and incorporates EU Standard Contractual Clauses as a transfer safeguard. CAINIX sends manuscript text to OpenAI only for the specific analysis or generation step you request. Under OpenAI's API terms, OpenAI does not train its models on API data either. Storage at the provider works as follows. Short requests are sent with OpenAI's "store" parameter set to false, so OpenAI keeps no stored copy of the response. Long, whole-manuscript steps (for example the Senior Story Director analysis, Character Census, blueprints and the screenplay) run in OpenAI's background mode, which requires OpenAI to store the response until CAINIX has read it; CAINIX then deletes that stored response, normally within minutes, and keeps retrying the deletion until OpenAI confirms it. Generated video clips are held by OpenAI's video service for a limited time so that CAINIX can download them. Separately, OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring under its standard data-usage policy; CAINIX does not currently have a zero-data-retention arrangement that would switch this off.
Vercel — Hosting and File Storage
Vercel hosts the CAINIX application and stores uploaded and generated images/video as private files (not publicly accessible; served only through short-lived signed links after an ownership check). Rate limiting (per-user usage counters) runs in CAINIX's own Neon database, not in a separate service.
Neon — Database
Neon hosts the Postgres database that stores project structure, AI-derived analysis results, and account data. CAINIX's database runs in the EU (Frankfurt). Sensitive creative fields are encrypted before they reach the database.
Vercel — Website Analytics
Vercel Web Analytics is used to understand how the public website is used: aggregate statistics such as which pages were visited, the referring site, browser and device type, and country. It sets no cookies, does not follow you across other sites, and is switched off inside projects (Studio pages under /projects are never reported), so it never sees your manuscripts, project content, or what you work on. CAINIX uses no marketing or advertising cookies.
A Note on Current Scope
During private beta, CAINIX's testers are individual creators, not businesses passing through their own end customers' data — so this page currently covers the CAINIX-to-provider relationship only. If CAINIX takes on business customers who need their own Data Processing Agreement with CAINIX naming these same subprocessors, that will be provided separately and this page will be referenced from it.

This is a private beta list and may change as CAINIX adds features or providers. Material changes will be reflected here; see the Privacy Policy for how this fits into CAINIX's overall data handling.
